One Nation Without God
Psalm 10:4 - “The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him. All his thoughts are, ‘There is no God.’” We are skating on thin ice in America. We boast in our greatness, but deny the source of that greatness: God and His principles upon which we built this country. On June 19, the U.S. Open featured a one minute segment with children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The words “under God” were omitted.
In early June, Palm Desert High School in California cancelled an entire fundraising program simply because they refused to place five bricks in a walkway containing scriptural quotations. Finally, on June 2 after a suit was filed, District Judge Fred Biery ordered a prohibition on prayer at a high school graduation ceremony. He stated that the son of the family who filed the claim would “suffer irreparable harm” if anyone prayed at the ceremony. Fortunately, there are still people in our country who find these stories outrageous because they have not yet bowed the knee to Baal (1 Kings 19:18). However, every day our nation becomes more devoid of God, and a nation without God is a nation without hope (Eph. 2:12). Let us pledge allegiance to the flag by pledging allegiance to the Father!
