Middle Man

Don’t Cut this Middle Man Out

It’s frustrating to be the middle man.  When people use you to accomplish a task they could accomplish themselves, it’s a waste of time.  “Would you tell him I said I can’t meet tomorrow?” — “Uhhh…yea, or you could tell him?”  Using a middle man takes the long way around.  Why not cut him out and take the more direct approach?  With that said, there’s one middle man you don’t ever want to cut out.

“For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all…” (1 Timothy 2:5-6).  To get to God, there is no shortcut.  We need Jesus to be our middle man, yet too many cut Him out.  “Why do I need Jesus when I’m a good person?” “Who needs Jesus when I have Mohammad?”  One man told me he prefers to connect to God through nature. “Who needs Jesus when I have chirping birds and a gentle breeze?” “Who needs Jesus when I can reach my Higher Power through AA meetings?” “Who needs Jesus when I can get in touch with my spirituality through meditation?”  Everyone needs Jesus.  He is not just a middle man; He is the middle man! “I am the way…no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (John 14:6).  Please don’t cut this middle man out.
