Evangelism Challenge: Recommend Big Picture Emails
Evangelism Challenge: Recommend Big Picture Emails
Several weeks back, our evangelism challenge was to subscribe to the Big Picture of the Bible email series. That challenge was meant to pave the way for today’s challenge, which is to recommend the emails to others. You can’t effectively recommend something you haven’t tried yourself.
Evangelism is difficult. That’s why the Shepherds and Brian and I have tried to make it a little easier. The Big Picture email series is one way to introduce someone to the gospel if you can’t teach them in person for whatever reason.
There are ten emails. Each one is short and illustrated with attractive graphics. The study presents an overview of the message of the Bible from the beginning to end, culminating in a lesson on the conditions for salvation.
My favorite way to use this tool—and the most effective method—is this . . .
- With excitement, explain the email series to someone when the opportunity arises.
- Ask them if they’d like you to sign them up for it.
- Let them know they can unsubscribe at any time.
- Ask if they’re comfortable sharing their email address with you (if you don’t already have it).
- Later, subscribe them yourself.
Here’s how to do that last step:
- Visit psd.church.
- Click the “Subscribe to Big Picture of the Bible Emails” button.
- Fill out the form with the individual’s name and email address.
- Click “Submit.”
Chances are, if you merely tell people about the emails, they won’t go to the trouble of finding the website and subscribing on their own. That’s why I like to do it for people (with their permission, of course). This is one more method that can help us win souls for Jesus!
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
And he who is wise wins souls.”
-Proverbs 11:30 NASB
