Marriage Challenge: Praise Your Spouse

Marriage Challenge: Praise Your Spouse

We know our spouse’s flaws better than anyone. No wonder we’re so tempted to criticize the things they do wrong. Doing this will destroy intimacy in marriage. Our spouse needs us to be their biggest fan, not their biggest critic.

Your new marriage challenge is to go out of your way to look for ways to praise your spouse. When they do something you like, even something insignificant, tell them. They need to hear it, and they need to hear it often. Challenge yourself to do this ten times a day for the next two weeks.

If we all do this, I’m convinced we’ll be amazed at the difference it will make in our marriage.

“Her children rise up and bless her;

Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:

‘Many daughters have done nobly,

But you excel them all.’”

-Proverbs 31:28-29 NASB
