17 Prophecies Fulfilled in Christ
Numerous prophecies of Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection were made hundreds of years before He appeared in history. These prophecies prove the inspiration of Scripture and the deity of Christ. Consider the following 17.
- The descendant of Abraham (Gen. 12:3; 22:18; Matt. 1:2; Luke 3:34; Gal. 3:16).
- Of the tribe of Judah (Gen. 49:10; Matt. 1:2; Luke 3:33; Heb. 7:14).
- The descendant of king David (2 Sam. 7:12-15; Matt. 1:6; Acts 2:30; Rom. 1:3).
- Born in Bethlehem Ephrathah (Mic. 5:2; Matt. 2:1; Luke 2:4-6).
- Born of a virgin (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-35).
- Ministered in Galilee (Isa. 9:1-2; Matt. 4:12-16).
- Rode a donkey during triumphal entry into Jerusalem (Zech. 9:9; Matt. 21:1-10).
- Was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver (Zech. 11:12-13).
- Rejected by His own people (Psa. 118:22-23; Matt. 21:42-43; Acts 4:10-12).
- Was scourged and spat upon (Isa. 50:6; 53:5; Matt. 26:67; 27:26, 30).
- Clothes were divided (Psa. 22:18; Matt. 27:35; John 19:23-24).
- Hands and feet were pierced (Psa. 22:16; John 19:17-18; 20:27).

- Ascended to God’s right hand as king (Psa. 110:1-3; Acts 2:33-36; Phil. 2:9-11).
The book Science Speaks factors the odds of someone fulfilling just eight Messianic prophecies: one in ten to the 17th power, or 100,000,000,000,000,000. That many silver dollars would cover the entire face of Texas … two feet deep! There is simply no excuse for disbelieving in one and only Son of God, Jesus Christ.
