Marriage Challenge: Communicate Your Needs

Marriage Challenge: Communicate Your Needs

Many spouses give up communicating their needs to their spouse simply because those needs have gone unmet for so long. This is a huge mistake in my opinion. The longer you go without having your needs fulfilled, the more your love tank will drain. Eventually it will empty at which point showing love will become nothing more than a duty.

I encourage you to have a heart-to-heart conversation with your spouse and clarify exactly what you need from him/her, why you need it, and how important it is to you. Subtle hints won’t do the trick. Lay out your needs in crystal clear (but loving) terminology that cannot possibly be misunderstood. If you do, you’ll stand a much higher chance of your needs being met, which in turn will enhance romantic love in your marriage.
