Marriage Challenge: Have More Meaningful Conversations
Face to face conversation is critical to any marriage’s success and is arguably the most important element of any strong relationship. Sadly, though, many husbands and wives put it very low on their list of priorities. As a result, they struggle to maintain closeness and true intimacy in their marriage.
Your new marriage challenge is to spend at least 30 minutes in meaningful conversation with your spouse every day for the next two weeks. Turn off the TV, silence your phone, and focus on nothing except one another as you talk. If you have kids, you may have to schedule your conversation time early in the morning or after you put the kids to bed. It is best to talk face to face, but if one of you is traveling, a video chat or a phone call will work. Emailing or texting doesn’t count.
You may be surprised how quickly and drastically your marriage can improve from this simple practice.
