Marriage Challenge: Seek Marriage Advice
A brother in Christ recently asked me if he and his fiancé could take Holly and me out for dinner to get some tips on marriage. Their goal is to glean relationship wisdom from several Christian married couples before their wedding date. Needless to say, I felt honored and gladly accepted the offer.
How many engaged couples proactively seek marriage advice from other Christians? Not many. How many husbands and wives do the same? Probably even fewer.
Over the next two weeks, I challenge us who are either married or engaged to reach out to a successful, Christian married couple. Ask for pointers to help you and your mate create a stronger, more Christ-centered relationship. If you do, you will come away with practical, proven steps to improve your marriage, and the other couple will be encouraged to excel still more in theirs.
“Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.”
